These are just moving lines on a canvas.. that's it!

This stuff is interactive - drag around to "zoom" in another direction... Usually zooming into dense areas will give you better effect

Note that in 3D version, there are two independent move mechanisms - 2D "scaling" and 3D z-axis movement, but most of the preceived movement actually comes from 2D scaling, so the actual 3D distance may be different than what you think... the "depth color" feature can help here.
